Introduced around July 2008, the Asus 900 Eeepc Netbook was one of the big hits for the budding netbook consumer market. With an option of 20GB, 16GB, or 12GB Solid State Drive and available in white or black, it quickly became a fan favorite for the speed it delivered and shock proof mobility. Asus really intended the netbook for users on the move. But I think the novelty is the size. It's what catches people's attention.

A year later, with the availability of 10-12 inches screen netbooks, I think that netbooks with 9 inch screen and below are dubious simply because of the keyboard size. Several months after hitting the market, complaints and questions on the reduced keyboard soon followed. Not just for the Asus, but other 9 inch netbooks as well. I saw a Dell mini 9 at a friend's work not too long ago and tried it for a few minutes. While I don't have big hands, I still think that it will take time for an adult to get use to them. I prefer the keyboards on the 10"-12" screen sized netbooks.
But they're great starter computers for young kids.
