10.1 inch screen
Notebooks below $150
The concept of a traditional netbook is net surfing for a relatively affordable price (usually within $500 or less) at the expense of top-notch components such as an optical player or gaming-capable graphics card or simply smaller monitors. However, you should find older notebooks reselling at much lower price when compared to when they were new and they make a nice netbook with “extra hardware” for the price. That’s because these were not supposed to be merely netbooks when to begin with.

Still, it helps to establish some workable standards when it comes to buying a netbook. I believe that netbooks should be used for actual work, such as writing articles, minor graphics work, spreadsheet calculation, etc, although work was not the original intention behind the product.
The bigger the screen, the better for your productivity. Two sizes seem to dominate the scene: 10.1″ and 11.6″.
Netbooks with 10.1 inch screens provide a sweet spot and some great bargains are available for less than $150 as seen below. Smaller screens (9″ and below) only seem to be appropriate for web surfing, Facebook, and gaming. Might as well get an iPad or a tablet or use your iPhone if you’re only planning to do those.
