10.1 inch screen
Notebooks below $200
The thinking behind a traditional netbook is online surfing for a fairly affordable price (commonly within $500 or much less) at the expense of top-notch hardware such as DVD drive or kickass graphics card or simply smaller window screens. Then again, you should find older computers reselling at much reduced price as compared to when they were new in the market and they make a pretty good netbook with “more hardware” for the price. That is because these were not meant to be simply just netbooks when first offered.

I use my netbook for actual work, be it writing articles, minor graphics work, spreadsheet calculation, etc, even though work was not the original intent behind this class of mobile computers.
To me, The bigger the screen, the better for your productivity. Two sizes seem to dominate the scene: 10.1″ and 11.6″. Netbooks with 10.1″ screens provide a sweet spot and plenty are available for less than $200 as seen below. Smaller screens (9″ and below) only seem to be appropriate for web surfing, social media, and some video games. Might as well get an iPad or a tablet or use your iPhone if you’re only planning to do those.
